Christmas music is in the air and it started playing long before December. Some complain about Christmas music starting in October and November. But there are plenty of others who enjoy it.
Why? Because contrary to what some people say, Christmas music is a good thing.
There are articles that have the audacity to say that listening to Christmas music is bad for a person’s mental health. I think that’s ridiculous so I had to read these articles to find out why they were saying that.
Why do they say Christmas music bad for someone’s mental health? Because people are stressed around the holidays.
Really? They are blaming Christmas music for people’s stress?
People are stressed for many reasons around the Chrismas holiday. People are stressed when it’s not the Christmas holiday. Their reason why Christmas music is bad is flawed.
Christmas music is not only a good thing, but it’s also good for you and I’ll share some with you to prove my point.

MUSIC IS A LANGUAGE
Music is the language of emotion.
Emotions are a huge part of our lives and there are many emotions to feel. Music can cover them all.
Christmas music is a carrier of goodness into our hearts and minds. When the music begins our hearts open wide welcoming in one or more of five good feelings.
Christmas music delivers five things we enjoy just as much as presents — if not more.

THE MUSIC SAYS CHEER UP, DANCE AND LAUGH
Many Christmas songs deliver cheer to our hearts better than cheerleaders get a crowd going at a football game.
When Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or Frosty the Snowman starts playing you just can’t sit still. There is foot-tapping, hand motions or joining in on your favorite part.
Here are three for you to enjoy.
Rudolph fun:
Sing a long with Frosty:
This is one of my favorites. It’s the old Jackson Five version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. It cracks me up how they say Santa in it. Laughing is good.
THE MUSIC SAYS PEACE, CALM DOWN
The first song that comes to mind when calm and Christmas are mentioned together, is Silent Night.
The peaceful melody emotionally rocks the soul as a mother rocks her beloved child.
By the time the song comes to conclusion, you’ve exhaled at least one or more sighs of relief having received benefits of quiet meditation.
Feel the peace:
And the first noel
THE MUSIC SAYS REMEMBER THIS AND FEEL THE GOOD
Good memories taste sweeter than candy canes and a Christmas song that stirs them up delivers tender sentimental emotions.
The style of music varies for each precious memory stirred.
Take this one, for example, I’ll be Home for Christmas
One of my favorites is Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.
Every time I hear it I remember my mother playing it on the piano and me singing along and I smile.
THE MUSIC SAYS BE IN AWE, FEEL DEEPLY
There are Christmas songs that deeply touch our souls.
These captivate us so much we’ll stop what we’re doing to receive what the song is delivering. Some make us tear up with awe or gratitude, others give us goosebumps. There are those that deliver both.
Here are three songs that do this to me.
O Holy Night
Breath of Heaven
Christmas Eve/Sarajevo.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra — Christmas Eve — Sarajevo 12–24
THE MUSIC SAYS BE INSPIRED LIKE A CHILD, SIMPLIFY
Some say Christmas is just for children.
We’re all children on the inside. Some Christmas songs remind us to tap into the childlikeness of wonder, awe, and simplicity. It’s something we need deeply because adulting is hard and wears on us.
For example, The Little Drummer Boy.
A friend of mine said this is the reason he loves this song: Old Toy Trains.
