Smile. The word itself makes me smile. When you say the word smile, it causes you to smile. Smiling is more important than you might think.
We can get so entrenched in the issues of life that we don’t think about smiling. We don’t see a reason. We think it’s difficult. I’ve been there. Sometimes life is hard and we have reason to be sad. But still, we can choose to smile.

WHY I SMILE MORE
I didn’t always believe in the power found in a smile or feel I had a reason to smile. But something made me think about smiling more.
I have a natural frown on my face. When my face is at rest it looks like I’m mad, or sad.
My mom’s face was like that too. I thought she was mad at me all the time.
She wasn’t.
But I didn’t learn that for a long time after she and I became friends (but our relationship building is another story). After discovering this about my mom and seeing my face having a natural frown also, I made it my mission to smile more.
Smiling more has made a difference in so many ways. Now my smile is my favorite feature about myself.

I love this! I naturally look blah, not mad, just blah. It is an effort to smile. When I do make the effort to just smile for no reason, I feel like I am taking it, even if I am not! I will have to start practicing more. You posted so many great reasons to smile! Thank you!
Yay! I’m so glad you loved it. You’re welcome.
I know how weird it feels at the beginning to smile intentionally for no reason but it gets easier and starts to become more natural.
Thank you for reading and commenting, Mary.
This one is my favorite:
“Smiling is multi-cultural.”
It makes borders disappear, reduces hate, battles phobias, kills racism, removes barriers.
It’s SO powerful!
Love the list, Danielle!
Thank you, Bradley.
It is truly amazing how a smile can do that – just cross the cultural lines and bring people together.
